Day Seven: Last Full Day in Norway
Today was another travel day...we had croissants and the rest of the cloud berry jam for breakfast and hopped on a train. The first train was older and we did not have assigned seating. A family of 7 sat near us, 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 3 kids...the kids were restless and kept running around and taking photos with a camera, but somehow missing every shot and the shots they did get were always blurry and out of focus due to their constant moving...luckily the first leg was only an hour and we were on another train with assigned seats...our seats were in the first class section...the benefits of having our return ferry canceled and the ferry company booking and paying for our tickets...we had double seats and the second leg, 2 hours, was much more comfortable than the first.
What our room looked like in Flam...like a small apartment!
We arrived back in Bergen and checked into the hotel, got our luggage back and just decided to wonder around the city. We looked for "street art", aka fancy graffiti, and we went into a couple of antique shops, which were literally piled with stuff...so much so, you couldn't even walk into the shop all the way...there was a bunch of stuff just sitting on the sidewalk outside...it was a mess...like a hoarder’s house...we also went into a Salvation Army, which looked exactly like an American Salvation Army with the exception of a woman (customer) walking around the store in a shear white t-shirt and no bra...Jason and I left the store and continued to look for more street art...after a while we started walking towards a park in the middle of the city and ran into the same woman from the Salvation Army on the street, Jason insisted it was a different woman, but I said how many women with super thin white t-shirts could be walking around the neighborhood at the same time...we agreed to disagree...in the park, there was a tug-o-war competition going on between teams from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark...Finland won, I think...after the competition, we walked around some more and got ice cream on a stick, listened to some Norwegians sing karaoke (in Norwegian) and then went to dinner...Jason wanted pizza, so we went to a pizza place and our last dinner in Norway was a BBQ chicken pizza. We came back to the room and played Yahtzee (Jason won again), listened to music and had a fun last night.
Jason II's Version:
This was our last full day in Norway and I feel we did everything we wanted to do while we were here. We started the day in Flam and ate some croissants and then went to get on the train. On the train their was this crazy family next to us and they never stopped moving around and then on the second train it was much more calm and I just watched my show. When we got back we walked to the hotel and put our things down and got ready to leave again just to do what we mostly did witch was wondering around the town with not having anything to do. After a bit we decided to get some gyros which were pretty good but they were chicken ones. After eating we continued our trip and he took some pictures of wall art and we walked past a concert that wasn't fully set up yet. We explored the last bit that we shockingly didn't already go to and we're about to back to the room but he wanted to go to one last store and got some ice cream and then got pizza and sat there eating and just talking about the trip. We the went back and played Yahtzee which he never even won a game the whole time we were here. The did the nightly routine and now going to bed.
