Day Six: Travel by Ferry
A selection of cheese and "kaviar" at the hotel breakfast buffet.
Today was a travel day. We went from Bergan to Flam via a 5.5 hour ferry. We left our luggage at the hotel and walked to the ferry. The scenery on the trip was beautiful. The ferry ride was mostly uneventful with the exception of the views. Jason watched movies on his phone and I drifted in and out of sleep. Once we got to Flam, a very tiny town, with a population of 300, we got Jason some sunglasses (I mistakenly thought he would need them on the speed boat tour) and in looking for sunglasses, we literally saw all of Flam...lol. Flam was actually quite busy because a cruise ship had docked and everyone was off the boat. We got hotdogs for lunch from a food truck, halfway through eating his hotdog, Jason remembered he wanted fish and chips when he saw a food truck for fish and chips...but after his hotdog, he didn't want a second lunch...thinking he would go to the food truck after the speed boat tour. We have an apartment type space with a kitchen, so we went to the grocery store and got pop, frozen pizza and some reindeer sausage, some chips and some ice cream on a stick. Prior to going on the speedboat tour, while we sat in the apartment, we ate some chips and some reindeer sausage and talked the small meaningless talk that you have to pass the time. The speedboat tour was fun, again not really anything eventful other than the scenery. It had a cheese tasting component in a very small town along the fjord. The cheese was good. We got back from the speedboat tour to find the cruise ship gone and all the food trucks were closed. Jason was disappointed, but at least we had frozen pizza to cook. We ate the pizza and went for a walk (I was low in my steps for the day), when I reached my 10k steps, we came back and ate the ice cream and played Yahtzee and just talked about our trip and such...today was a nice day with good scenery and kind of relaxing.
Kind of a slow and light day...it was nice after all the hustle and bustle of the last few days.

Jason II's Version:
Today we woke and got our breakfast in a rush because we had to go on a boat that was going to Flam. We got on the boat and the trip was 6 hours long and we didn't see the fjords for most of the ride because it was foggy. When we did see stuff it was awesome and they are really big. We got to Flam at 2 and walked around looking at the town which is really small so it didn't take long after wondering around, we got to our rooms and this place was bigger than all of the places we stayed at so far. We got hotdogs from a food stand. We then went to the store because dad wanted to make some food since we had a oven. We got pizza, chips, rain deer meat and ice cream. We had the pizza and ice cream but we are going to have the others on the train tomorrow. After that we went on a 'rib tour" but there weren't any ribs we went on a boat and looked at and learned a lot of things about the fjords and it was awesome. We got back and make the pizza and he wanted to get his 10,000 steps so we walked around the town some more. After that we ate the ice cream and I beat him at Yahtzee for the millionth time. After that it was 10 so he went to bed and I took my shower and then went to bed.
